The Medical Assistant (MFA) work primarily in general practice, internal medicine, surgical, or other specialized medical practices run by private physicians, as well as in outpatient departments of hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, and medical care centers.

The job description of the MFA is characterized by the following areas of responsibility: medical assistance, patient counseling and care, as well as administration and organization of practice operations.

As a support staff member, the MFA works independently, autonomously, in a patient-centered manner, and with a focus on quality, and actively contributes to maintaining and restoring patients’ health as part of a practice team.
